Overview

Built in 1924 by Marius Boyer for the daily newspaper La Vigie marocaine, the building stands out for its corner tower topped with green tiles. Boyer used the Neo-Moorish vocabulary of the 1920s: carved panels around round-arched windows, green-tiled canopies, zellige and interior panelling. The press group, born in the old medina, later published Le Matin here. Under the arcades of Boulevard Mohammed V, the present shopfronts date from the 1980s.
