Overview

Built in 1934 by Marius Boyer as the head office of the Shell company, the building curves gently to follow the line of the square. Above the ground-floor colonnade, the façade is banded with smooth horizontal strips, broken by the vertical windows of the rounded corners. On the set-back fifth floor, a clock face is flanked by two shells, the company's emblem. Restored, the building reopened on 5 December 2013 as the Hôtel Impérial.
