Current use Public park

- Albert Laprade
Overview
The park was laid out from 1916 by Albert Laprade, a member of Henri Prost's team, on fifteen hectares still held by the army. It follows a long French-style axis lined with palms and ficus trees whose meeting branches form green vaults, inspired by Forestier's gardens in Seville. Laprade designed fountains and arcades topped with pergolas, and sports facilities were added in the 1930s. Today the park remains the main green space of the city centre.
